Radar Tower, Palaiseau, France
The radar tower, modern landmark sited on Saclay plateau near Paris, rises its radome to more than 60 meters and embodies this large-scale science cluster. This high technology equipment, made of light grey prefabricated concrete elements, combines a formal simplicity and a complex structural functionality. Its structural wall, making up a both cylindrical and perforated trunk, plays with the changing light like an impressive kaleidoscope. Its innovative assembly constituted a real challenge.
